From feelings of failure comes a new beginning…
She always painted or drew as early as 5. Yet it was not until she experienced failure in the year 2022. She felt she was not able to meet the standards of research. Afterwards she took painting more seriously in order to still support wildlife and find her footing again….
The details are as follows if you read this far: She is a Taiwanese American artist and biologist, whom decided to do a Fulbright Vietnam project in 2022-2023. She wanted to immerse herself in a culture similar yet starkly different from what she was used to. Her original plan was to use VHF(Very High Frequency Transmitters) to track 10 rescued and released Sunda Pangolins. Pangolins are the world’s most trafficked wildlife and are critically endangered. She ended up barely tracking 4 in the Cat Tien National Park and cut short her pilot project.
Yet in that process she felt inspired by Nature’s ruthless beauty and moments of serenity. She decided to pivot her Fulbright to sharing about little known wildlife of Vietnam such as the Asian Small Clawed Otter, Masked Palm Civet, and Large Antlered Muntjac.
Fortunately, through her experiences she learned a lot about pangolin dispersal, VHF telemetry, and improved her skills in fieldwork. Combined with four years of experiences from 2018-2022 assisting with wildlife husbandry, human wildlife conflict data entry and management, necropsies she was able to continue to pursue her passion. She found work at the Drought Program as a scientific aid at California Department of Fish and Wildlife 2023-2024 working on drought species prioritization and amphibian surveys and data. Then 2024 to 2025 she gained additional camera trap, graze monitoring, data management, and human wildlife conflict phone call response at the Conserved and Unstaffed Lands Program.
From September 2025 to present she works in Taiwan on Ecological Construction Monitoring learning to find harmony with human infrastructure and disaster prevention with wildlife. She has found art to be a way of self expression, appreciation for nature, and a form of cultivation.

Art that captures Nature,
the serene and the resilience…

Every art piece was inspired not just by a wildlife species, but also remembering the biologist and mentors that have taught her. Through her interest in Martial Arts she was fortunate to build deep connections that further her passion in living.
A fun fact is one of her favorite mammals are the civets.
